We’re back after a bit of an absence. It’s been a busy few weeks – we had the Thanksgiving holiday here in Canada, and then I took a trip down to New York for Comic Con last weekend. It was crazy there!

We’re also coming up on our one year anniversary for Unboxing Wednesdays. Thanks to all of you who have been watching. The other big news is that our videos are now appearing on the website BleedingCool.com

We had an exciting time at the store last week, with our Flash #1 launch party featuring series writer and artist Francis Manapul. You can check out some of the video from that event here, at the end of our latest Unboxing Wednesdays episode. This week we are very happy to welcome Marcus To, artist on the Huntress #1 to our store. That all goes down this Wednesday Oct. 5th from 4-7, check out all the details here.

Speaking of Unboxing Wednesdays, we passed 1000 subs on our YouTube channel last week! Woo-hoo!

2001 was such a monumental year in comics, especially for me. A ton of amazing books released that year: Grant Morrison’s New X-Men, Wolverine Origin, Kevin Smith’s Green Arrow, Geoff Johns’ Flash, Ultimate Spider-Man, and of course all of the stories that evolved out of the terrible events of 9/11 – such as Amazing Spider-Man #36.

That year marked my return to the world of collecting comics, guided by Rob – who was working part-time during that period at Stadium Comics while we studied at college. 2001 was also the first time I attended Wizard World Chicago which back then was the second largest comic convention in the world. It was such an amazing experience that we would make the trip to Chicago con our annual tradition, up until about two years ago. Now that Rob and I run Stadium, it’s harder to find the time to get away from the store!

Anyone who knows me well is familiar with my preoccupation with my iPhone and its various apps. It seemed fitting that it was the device Torin Bal chose to allow us to travel through time. As for Torin – he seems in pretty rough shape. Here’s hoping the little guy pulls through.

There will be a Time Nerds print available at our upcoming Justice League Launch Party this Tuesday August 30th. It should be a fun event and will include a live taping of Unboxing Wednesdays! Hope to see a lot of you there.

Check out the cover to our Amazing Spider-Man #666 Stadium Comics variant, released on July 27, 2011 – mere days before the release of Time Nerds page 1. Cool story, bro!
